Sean Nugent

Sean Nugent is an Account Manager at LINE Communications. He is widely travelled and has experience of developing and delivering training in a range of subjects and a range of sectors. His interest in developing e-learning began when he was faced with the need to provide training to geographically dispersed teams. After having developed e-learning at Sheffield Hallam University and Act e-learning he joined LINE in 2004. As part of his role he has had direct hands-on experience of developing e-learning in the Defence sector. This has given him a clear insight into what works for the target audience in this environment and how to make e-learning a success. He has a particular interest in working with organisations to embed learning technology within learning programmes, and using technology to transform learning and development.

Recently he has overseen a number of large-scale complex blended learning programmes for a range of customers including the UK Border Agency, (formerly the Border and Immigration Agency) the MOD, the National Australia Group Europe and the National College for Schools Leadership. He has extensive experience of developing e-learning programmes for use across the corporate, defence, education and public sectors.

He holds a Masters in multimedia computing specialising in web-based learning; this has provided him with an in-depth knowledge of learning theory and educational issues related to learning online.

He has presented at a number of key learning events in the Defence and Security sector including Learning Technologies, ITEC and Security & Defence Learning 2008.
